Lake Naivasha -enveloped by grassy banks and acacia woodlands, Kenya’s most beautiful freshwater lake sits atop the Rift Valley at an astonishing 1884 meters above sea level. The lake produces perch and African crucian carp, habitat to hippos and various waterfowl. You can take a speedboat cruise usually about 90 minutes during which you to get real close (as close as 5 meters) to these avian wonders -pigeons, flamingoes, crows, and even fish eagles and you get to witness dozens of hippos wallowing in water and the different species of birds on Crescent Island. This island was one of the settings for the 1985 movie “Out Of Africa” starring Meryl Streep.
